could an engine date coded august 22 in a 65 chevelle be matching numbers
with the fisher body date of January second week?
An August "64 engine date would not be correct for a January "65 VIN or body date as all those engines would have been used up long before that. An august "65 engine date wouldn't match either, as the car would have been assembled long before that. However, is the engine code a factory replacement? If so, it's possible that an August "65 date would be plausible.
