2019 Kia Niro Plugin Accelarating by itself

Asked by Guru9DM78Z Nov 18, 2020 at 05:00 PM about the Kia Niro

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The battery is fully charged, when you backup or drive very slow from the
parking lot or driveway, the acceleration gas pedal kicks by it self, and scres
the crap out of me, this happens also at stop sign or while driving slowly, and
all of a sudden the gas kicks in. Took to the deal ship today they could not
find the problem and told me it is normal, but on the report they did not put it
is normal, they put 1919 Could not duplicate the problem or abnormal
concern gas motor engaging per normal operation. Call the dealer to talk to
the manager to open a case to Kia and they will get back to me. I am planing
to call Kia Customer service to address the issue.

Might try cleaning the throttle body...it could be sticking causing the issue. Occasionally (though not as common) the floor mats slide to a position that can cause interference with the gas pedal operating properly (like keeping some pressure on the cables running to the throttle body for example)
