2016 s60 t5 fuel gauge does not read the correct fuel level

Is it the MAF sensor?  or is it some other sensor?

Most likely, it's a defective fuel sending unit at the pump: it's just worn out. Less likely, it might be a damaged ground wire to the sender or a defective gauge.

You can have an independent shop run a diagnostic on it, chances are high that the fuel lever sender is going away soon, but I have seen the gauges get out of calibration so even a new sender won't fix it, if that is the case the dealership is the only place I know of that can do a recalibrate on the gauge and it's not cheap.
