1982 Lincoln Town Car

Asked by Mainewriter Dec 25, 2009 at 11:15 AM about the 1982 Lincoln Town Car

Question type: General

I'm writing a short story in which my poor character is given a 1982 Lincoln Town Car by her wealthy grandmother.  I
need to get the details of the interior correct.  The exterior will be powder blue (it's a recent paint job) and I'm giving
the car white leather seats.  What else should I say about the car that makes my poor character's eyes pop out at its
splendor?  For instance, what might the dash be made out of and/or what does it look like?  I need to know the
obvious stuff that someone who doesn't know anything about cars would notice.
Thanks!

The '82 lincoln has the same interior pieces for most '80s lincoln towncars. I've been replacing heat damaged parts for the last 3 years on my '82. The dash is mostly plastic pieces and no wood or leather. The dash pad is the usual vinyl. I know the pads from '88s have been looking decent in the yards.
