I spoke with the salesman over the phone and we arrived at an agreed upon price. After agreeing to the price I was told I would have to speak to a person in the accounting department before I could finalize purchase. As I was not arranging financing, I thought this odd but agreed non the less. I received a call from the accounting person and realized that this was to try to sell me an extended warranty plan. There was still a residual warranty on the car from Volkswagen so I politely declined. She was quite insistent on this extended warranty which would have cost us an additional $3900. After several pitches I declined. We(my wife and I) arranged to go to dealership to pay and pick up the car a couple of days later. When we arrived we took a walk around the car and realized that there was an obvious dent on the front hood next to the VW symbol. My wife test drove the car when it was raining and noted the car when quite dirty. She did not see this dent. We asked the salesman if he knew about the dent. He said he had not seen it before. We told the Salesman that we would like the dent fixed before we agree to purchase. He went to see his sales manager. After several minutes the Manager appeared and said that the dent was in an awkward place and they would not be able to get behind the hood to fix it without considerable cost??? He also said it was a used car and we had got a good price(we were so lucky). We said this was unacceptable. After many more minutes the saleman reappeared and offered to provide a plastic 'bib' to cover the dent and some paint to seal the dent. We agreed to this solution but were very disappointed with this experience. "
