my 2005 suburu forester won't start

first it was the side door lock draining the battery, and had it take off.  then it won't start again about 2 weeks later.  Jumped it off and got it started, but the following day it wouldn't start again. bought new jumper cables, and it still doesn't start.  the lights and radio and things like that work.  what could it be?  PLEASE HELP ME.
