Subaru Baja 2005 engine problems

Asked by Hunter May 19, 2017 at 11:22 PM about the 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Subaru Baja turbo.  When I was
driving the check oil light came on letting me know
that there was no oil in the car before I could get a
home to put the oil in the car I heard a pop. I was
able to drive it home and put oil in it but now it
won't accelerate past 20 mph if even that. Any
ideas what's wrong with my car?  Do I need a new
engine?

If you ran the engine with no oil it may be toast. Have it a mechanic check it out but I think you are due for a new engine.

First gen 2.5 turbos are notoriously fragile. Do NOT sink too much into this 11 year old Subie.
