Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Satirn vue was just bought from Dave Smith
and the mechanic looked me right in the eye and
said the white cream on oil cap was not a blown
gasket so i bought the car. I get home and the
smell of burnt oil ic coning off Ithe motor. Its a bad
smell. It used. A quart of oil over 4000 miles and
no antifreeze used. Could it be a valve cover.

Yup, or Intake gasket, or other gasket is leaking oil, and burning off the exhaust. You need to get under the vehicle to see where it is originating from. A quart in 4000miles is not a huge leak, but best to have it fixed if the smell is obnoxious.
