I have a 2004 Saturn Vue AWD V-6 and the low oil pressure light flickers at idol after it warms up. Do I need to change the oil pump?

I'd say the oil pressure sending unit may be weak. Shouldn't be too difficult to replace and will be much cheaper to replace than an engine repair.. If the sending unit doesn't stop the flickering light, then further repair might be needed. The oil light flickers when idling and when warm is due to the lesser oil pressure at idle and oil being thinner when warmed.
