what are the requirments to replace an automatic transmission 5r55 with a manual transmission f27a? and are the wiring harnesses interchangable?

have a 1995 explorer that the automatic transmission went out in and now id
like to instead put a manual 5 speed transmission with 4 wheel drive back in.
The old automatic transmission also had 4 wheel drive.

First check and see if the transmission you want to put in was available in the 95 model. You may need a longer or shorter drive shaft due to the length of the transmission. You may have PCM problems if the transmission you want to put in is electronic.
