92 firebird will not start with key but turns over when hotwiring

Asked by Riek Mar 25, 2018 at 07:09 PM about the 1992 Pontiac Firebird Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I woke up one morning tried to crank my car I herd the starter grunt after that when I turn the key I
get nothing not even a click. So far I’ve replaced the starter the starter relay the ignition switch and
the neutral safety switch and still nothing . So I tried hotwiring it  and bypassing the vats system
but it only turn over so I replaced the distributor and the rotor head . I sprayed  starter fluid and it
started but it shuts back off quickly so I hot wired it again and this time I continuously press the
throttle it stays on until I stop it loose pressure and goes off...

I'd say look on online for a way to bypass the Vats system you have to do your homework on that one sounds pretty strange?
