this has a lt1 motor . it drove great last night but this morning it just turned over and tries to start. i was told of posibilities like the distributor. or fuelpump went out. the fuel pump does humm when turning the key on any information on this problem will be appreaced thanks terry

Hello stealhorsemustang-- No matter what people tell me about distributos and fuel pumps, etc., the most likely source of your trouble is the battery. Often there is enough power left in it to turn over, but not enough to start the engine. Get a jump start and see if the car starts then. If it does, the battery is your problem. I have a 1990 firebird with the 3.1l and I have been realized that when I start it to warm up, it sucks more gas then it does when I am driving it and I want to know why it does that. My other question is, one day. I was on my way back and I was at a stop sign and their was a car coming, so I put my foot to the floor to and it just died on me, it started right up and drove ever since that. 7 Answers

I have a 99 firebird 3.8 that is making a high pitched squeal that seems to be coming from the drivers side front wheel. It only happens when i start the car cold and only when the wheel is moving whether braking or not. It only lasts about three minutes or so. My best guess was the wheel bearing needing replacement but im not sure if it is coming from the wheel or if it just sounds that way from the drivers seat. It doesnt happen when idling.
