1995 Firebird ZD series eats too much fuel

Just replaced the fuel pressure regulator which helped a bit but the car still
eats a lot of gas and is not getting enough air to pressurize fuel properly and i
get this popping sound took it into 2 auto shops and they cant figure it out

What engine and fuel delivery? Original fuel injectors still on the car? Never heard of a "ZD series". What is it?
