How to change the Engine light in the dash on a 1995 Firebird

Asked by May 19, 2017 at 03:54 PM about the 1995 Pontiac Firebird Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How so I take apart and find the check engine light in the dash ?  What size of bulb does it take?

1 Answer

The bulb will be a 194 bulb. You can remove the lower steering column cover and get behind the instrument cluster to get to the bulb and socket. The socket will twist out with the bulb still inserted. You'll pull the old bulb straight out and push the new bulb straight into the socket. It may take a bit of maneuvering to get to the bulb and socket assembly. Things are usually tight back there. HTH. -Jim
