Transmission type for 1997 Potiac Sunfire 2.4 liter quad engine

I am trying to buy a used transmission for my 2.4 liter engine, how do I know which one that fits? Do we have number on the trans. that will tell the type of trans?

Automatic or manual? Used ones at http://www.theautochannel.com/autoparts/used-transmissionspartspontiac/1997-sunfire.html are going for about $450 for the automatic, and you gotta be REAL careful with a junkyard transmission. Every one they have they will say it has 30,000 miles on it, happens all the time. So if the junkyard wants $400 or more that website guarantees theirs and includes shipping, (I don't know how they can do that, shipping a 400lb transmission has GOT to be expensive) but that's what they say...if the rest of your car, the engine is in real good shape you may want to consider a rebuilt
