Brake squeaking

My 1998 Pontiac sunfire's left disc brake has been
on and off making a bad screech. There is a pile of
brake dust accumulating on one spoke of the
wheel, nowhere else, and the noise comes when I'm
going straight or left not when going right. Why is
this happening?
