How do I change the back up lights in a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville ssei Was told by auto zone I need to take off the whole panel on trunk lid.

Both of my back up lights are out and have warning on gauge area. was told I need to take off the whole unit on trunk lid to do this. Is that right and how do I get it off? if not can you please tell me how it's done? Thanks!

4 or 5 nuts in trunk lid all will have guide holes might be hiding ( under carpet or plastic) most likely a 10 mm remove them lights will pull out look for bulb behind white lens (area lights like up) n replace bulb socket will twist or pull out
