i just got a 2000 pontiac sunfire 2.4 litre twin cam. i am trying to check the transmission fluid level and cant find the dip stick. any pointers?

It doesn't have one. You have to check it from underneath. It has a plug, much like a rear wheel drive rear end. Its a lot easier to do when up in the air. Don't try checking it on ramps or jack stands unless you use 4 of them to keep the car level.
