2000 Pontiac Sunfire Coupe Wiring Issue

Asked by Kymp97392 Oct 10, 2018 at 01:20 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Sunfire GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought this 2000 Pontiac
Sunfire Coupe and love it
EXCEPT when I turn on the
headlights, the wipers come
on....and when I use the turn
signal the wipers come on!! I
know this is not normal, but
being a woman who is not
mechanically inclined I need to
know where to start and not
have to spend a lot of money
on a mechanic. If it's just a
headlight harness how do I
know this? Basically, how do I
track down the issue without
buying a bunch of parts I really
don't need. I do have
knowledge that he tried to
change the headlights and
thats when everything started
to go wrong... Please HELP
and get me back on the road
safely :) Thank You.

Its called a Multifunction Switch...the stick that u move and turn to work your turn signals/ wipers. Most likely has a short, sending power to the wipers even when turned off. Usually isn't much to replace.
