Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, a couple of weeks a go I
had to replace the water pump due to it being faulty. Car
was running just fine , a couple of days later I drove the car
to my work while driving back to my house the car started
stalling until it died out and it wouldn't start again. I tried
about 20 minutes later and it started back again just to die
out a couple of miles later. No Check Engine light on I
checked the usual suspects ( sparkplugs and wires. )Also
connected the code reader machine a no codes to be
found. I did some research here at CarGurus and there
where several ideas or thoughts on what the main issue
would be. Crankshaft position sensor/ PCB valve/ fuel
pressure regulator/AIC valve/ fuel filter fuel pump/ dirty
MAF sensor or bad MAP sensor . I have replaced every
single one of these sensors but the problem still persist
one thing I did notice is that when unplugging each one of
these sensors they all threw their respective code(s) except
the AIC valves I plug and unplugged it while car was
running but no code comes up at this point I don't know
what else it could possibly be since there is no actual time
frame that car will run and stall . Please lend me some of
your car knowledge any help is greatly appreciated.

The pump primes with the ignition on , I checked the fuel pressure after installing the new pump and there was no loss of pressure from ignition on to car turned on. Also unplugged the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose and the pressed jumdp 5-7 pounds which is expected. The only thing that's troubling me is the fact the AIC valve does not throw a code once unplugged and engine running. Do you think this is normal. And could this cause the vehicle to stall and not start again I also smell gas around the engine no visual presence of any gas.i also heard a backfire by the intake Anyway thanks for your reply and hope you have some ideas or thoughts.

Check to see if you have a vacuum leak that leads to the fuel regulater. I too had the exact same problem and the vacuum line cracked when the car was worked on.

I had the exact same thing happened to me. No check engine lights no codes oh, it didn't matter how long you drove it what it was warm or cold you did not know when it was going to shut off or how to beat so you can start it but it was running perfect until that happened every time. It took me forever going through The Usual Suspects but it turned out to be a cracked boot on the vacuum line going to the fuel regulator. I would almost be certain that that is the problem
