replaced sensor still wont work

Unplug the sensor and use a small wire to connect the two terminals on the plug together (for testing purposes). Turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. The temperature gauge should swing to the hot position immediately. If so the sender is bad. If not the wiring or gauge on the dash is bad. HTH. -Jim
