What's wrong with my ABS brake system in my 2005 Pontiac GTO

Asked by abandzz Dec 02, 2016 at 01:09 AM about the 2005 Pontiac GTO Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed the brakes
I changed the master cylinder
Now they are saying it's the abs control module.
How can I test to find out for sure. Also if I do
change it will I have to get it reprogrammed?!

Not sure if there is a test you can do to check the signal and response from this module. Maybe an internet search would help. It is a likely cause but it could also be a wheel sensor. Any codes being kicked by the ECM?

Make sure the circuit is properly grounded. Your question doesn't say what the actual problem is but I'm guessing it's an ABS light, in which case yes check for codes as said above. You probably had/have a wire disconnected or left the battery group connected and threw it out of sync with the computer. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the negative battery cable
