Pontiac G6 GT Brakes bad and Axel makes popping sound

Im in need to xga change my brakes on my
2005 Pontiac G6 GT the rear brakes. There is a
there's like a scraping sound and I believe it's
my Calpers rotors or wheel bearings. Tonight
while driving there was a loud pop that came
from my left rear side is this because of the
brakes or is it the axle?!?

It could be both, I would go ahead a do a complete brake job, new pads and rotors...that will at least eliminate one thing
