If it is a factory system, you need to click the lock button first and then immediately click and hold the autostart button (arrow going in a circle) for about 3-4 seconds and then it will start- the 3 blinks is to let you know it "heard" you but can't execute the command. you will get that same 3 blink light if you cycle the autostart twice without putting a key in the ignition (cycle=start, let run for 10 min., car shuts off)- if that happens, go out and start it manually and it will restart the 2 autostart rule. you may also want to check in your info center to make sure the autostart feature didn't get accidentally turned off.

It's the hood latch. There is a way to bypass it. :)

There should be 2 wired going to the sensor, they just need to be cut and wire nut them together to complete the circuit bypassing the sensor itself. Worked on my 05 g6.
