Engine surges to 5500 rpm

1990 Oldsmobile Toronado 3800 engine surges to 5500rpms but does not stall.  I just replaced CKP and
fule injector O-rings.  What could cause this

Misfire under a load. My 92 regal ran just fine at an idle and light acceleration but when I would floor the gas it would spit and sputter. Looked at it the next day and it turned out to be a cracked 3/6 coil. Inspect your entire ignition.
