Plz help me

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay so a few weeks ago my mustang sorta like
stalled out on my boyfriend and i right on the
interstate and we pulled off and the problem was it
over heated well my boyfriend had disconnected
something from the battery to reset the car or
some shit like that? And it worked enough for us to
get on down the road and it hasnt overheated since
then but a few nights ago as we was going up a hill
i heard the car sound lile it wasnt shifting itself into
the gear it needed to be in to get up the hill and my
boyfriend said here lately its been doin that, he
cant get the car to go over 50 mph over a hill cuz it
wont shift into gear correctly, so today on the
interstate once again it had stalled out on him and
i asked him if it got to hot again and he said no he
wasnt sure why it stopped on him this time. So can
anyone plz tell me what they think could be the
issue?? My boyfriend thought maybe it could be
the computer chip or whatever going bad in the
car? Does anyone else have any ideas?? Plz help
me if so.

check tranny fluid level , if the fluid on the dip stick smells burnt replace it , scan for codes even if the light ain't on , don't drive it when it's hot you may ruin the motor

Your boyfriend doesn't have a clue. Take it to a mechanic.

Definitely sounds like a transmission problem. Possibly the torque converter clutch (TCC) is sticking or the transmission isn't upshifting into the highest gears. That would also explain the overheating. Going down the interstate your boyfriend probably had the gas pedal to the floor, or close to it, and the engine was screaming. The excessive RPMs probably caused the engine to overheat! Let a reputable transmission shop have a look at it and take your keys away from your boyfriend. Let him blow up his own engine!! HTH. -Jim
