Power to doors

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently acquired 1996 ford mustang 3.8 l
base model. I have no power to passenger
or driver door power window, lock, and
mirrors do not work. I changed the fuses,
circuit breakers and the control modual
located in the drivers door and still have to
functioning power windows, power locks or
power mirrors. Please give me some advice
on how to fix this problem. Thanks.
P.S if it was a grounding problem where
would the ground be located.

First confirm the power distribution box under the hood does NOT have any burnt fuses. I KNOW YOU DID! IF there are NO burnt fuses Then you will need a multimeter to locate the problem easy and quickly, IF you have one begin CHECKING for POWER12volts at the (interior) FUSE BOX, the window circuit the door lock circuit.. etc. Really you could even just check for power12volts at the driver door main switch but that's upstream a bit. With a multimeter and a wiring diagram you can do as good as a shop albeit slower.... but worth learning how
