Oil level and pressure dashboaed digital readout problems for 4.0 motor

I just bought a 1999 Aurora with 87,000 miles on it, this is my 4th Aurora. I am experiencing some odd problems, all oil related. 1 - The motor monitoring system keeps telling me to "Check Engine oil level" when I do the dip stick reads "full". I have tried using the "Reset" button and the warning goes away but, I can turn the motor off and immediately restart the motor and I get the same warning. 2 - The "Oil Pressure readout" reads "Low Oil Pressure" when I get off of the freeway when I get to a stop light and have to stop, the pressure drops to zero according to the digital read out on the monitoring system. This does not always happen.

Did you ever figure it out i have a 1997 aurora and is doing the same exact thing need your help if you can

To all with low oil pressure warnings on 4.0 Aurora's at idle (oil pressure fine just about everywhere else( with no actual low oil symptoms (knocking, hesitation, etc.), simply have the oil pressure sending unit replaced. This controls your readout and is prone to minor leaks that can trip up the sending unit. My 99 Aurora had intermittent low oil pressure warnings. No symptoms of actual low oil. Only read low at idle. Found drips from sending unit, did an oil change and had the sender replaced at the same time, no labor as it is maybe a minutes work when done with an oil change. The issue has not occured since. Good luck to all current and future 4.0 owners!

Is the oil pressure sending unit the same thing as the oil pressure sensor and/or switch. I am being told by a Cadillac service center that they are.
