If your seats are manual, your, like mind of the same year are probably suffering from age. Take about five minutes and remove the four bolts holding the seat down, then remove the seat from the vehicle. Your problem is either a corrosion one on the track or a spring which has failed. It's easily seem once the seat is removed. Remove the corrosion or file the location where the seat is stuck. Replace/repair the spring mechanism.

Why do mechanics tell me it can't be fixed and will have to be replaced? it looks like a lot of rust has happened, and probably could be repaired. Why do i have to look for a used track? I am thinking they don't want to fool with it.
