how to tell with car jacked up if bearing is bad on the front

When my wheel bearings went bad on my 2003 Alero, I kept getting my service engine soon light, replaced both front bearings and all fixed, also will here a minor intermittent squeal.

It’s an alero and you suspect the wheel bearing? It’s the bearing! Just replace them both. No more noises at odd speeds. Thank me later
