Will a 2002 Ford Explorer engine fit and work in a 1996 Explorer?
I have a 1996 Ford Explorer it has a 4.0 v6 and the engine just took a crap. I personally don't think the engines worth fixing due to it having over 200,000 miles so I wanna replace it. I have a v6 with super low miles out of a 2002 Explorer I was wondering if it would work.
sure it will...
The engine in the 96 is a OHV engine. This engine was discontinued. The engine in the 2002 is a SOHC engine. They may bolt up but I suspect the pin-outs on the 96 PCM is not the same as the 2002. I would also suggest you check the specifications on both the 92 and 02 vehicles paying attention to the model transmission used. Also, the 2002 has thirty or more horsepower
Will the break calipers and rotors on a 2004 explorer work on a 2002 explorer
