What's wrong with new fuel pump?

I replaced my fuel pump and now can barely start truck. When I give to much gas it bogs down terribly. When it idles it surges. any ideas?

you need to bleed the air out of the fuel system,follow fuel rail to end will see a valve that is the bleeder.
