Brake lights do not go off on my 1996 Nissan pickup when key is turned off.

Brake lights stay on all the time.

Check the brake light switch at break pedal,sounds like it is bad.

I DID /IT IS THE SAME/LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN THE CAR IS OFF

On the brake peddle arm there is suppose to be a plastic plug that mates up to the sessor. They rot and fall out causing sensor button to not function. My remedy is to use a door panel fastener in its place. Easy fix!! Just push it in the hole from the back side
