brake light and left turn signal

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1996 Nissan Hardbody brake light stays on and left turn signal flashes much too fast. Right turn flashes normally. If this is a switch or relay issue, please tell me exactly where they are located. I have a Haynes manual but it is very vague on this.

Check the left bulbs, front and back make sure they both work,a blowed bulb will make it blink faster, thay run off the same blinker relay ,so it wont be blinker relay that is bad,the brake lights staying on will be the brake switch under dash at break pedal is bad.

The front bulb was good but not getting good contact. Sandpaper fixed that problem and turn signals are working now.Still trying to get to the root of the brake light problem. Don't know how to tell if switch is bad.
