What is the proper technique for starting 78 mustang

I’ve recently acquired the 78 Mustang and I
wondered what the proper technique for
starting the car is I seem to flood the
carburetor when I’m trying to start it. Thank
you ....

i would recommend pumping the gas pedal once or twice, and then crank it up. if it does not start, try pumping the gas once or twice while cranking. you might want to check the air filter for blockage.

If it floods floor the pedal while starting which may allow it to start.
