Does a bad knock sensor turn on the ck.engine light?

Asked by Ypsilon_1247 Feb 27, 2017 at 05:48 PM about the 1997 Nissan Maxima SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1997 3000 twin cam Infiniti Ck. engine light came on, air-temp/fuel
mix sensor may be bad...that turns on the light! Presumably fixed
but the light stays on and the knock sens. code also faulty/bad.
Would the knock sens. code be sufficient by itself to turn light on
IF air-temp/fuel mix is corrected?
