My 97 nissian maxima won't drive

My 97 maxima won't drive it sputtered while
driving then the battery and brake lights stated
flashing it drove a little farther then died had
battery and alt checked both in on and out of car
both are good also car was running hot it won't
drive over a 1000 rpms
