My remote control alarm don't work on my 97 maxima,and im trying program but not work,how can i fix that

"you can also try putting the key into the door lock and turning it to the lock then unlock position. don't know if that helps, but if the factory alarm is going off, that's one way to silence it." >>>found in my search-
