98 nissan frontier

After I crank the truck on, dash lights up for about 10 seconds then goes out. When I turn the light switch to parking lights or headlights, odometer light goes out. When I turn head lights or parking lights back off, odometer relights.

Bad battery or ground connections are my guess. There will be several grounds around your engine bay and a couple smaller ones under the dash. You can use alligator clip leads to simulate the smaller ones and booster cables to simulate larger ones
