My interior lights won't shut off. Any ideas?

Asked by MTPerry Dec 21, 2016 at 10:38 PM about the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We turned on the lights while sitting in the car, and now they won't turn off. I
have checked the manual and the dashboard dimmer lights. Any other ideas?

It could be a bad or stuck door switch, look at the door jam and have that switch checked...

I have had this happen in my C-Max Energi 2016 while idling sitting in the parking lot before going into a restaurant, looking for some papers. To turn them off, I stopped the car, then started it back on, putting it into drive with the foot on the break and after 5-10 seconds, the lights should turn off by themselves. Then put it in park and stop the car again.
