Question type: General

My manual rear gate won’t lock on my new 2020 Forester, which has keyless
entry. Called dealer, who said it automatically unlocks when you have the fob
on your person - within 8 ft. Tried without the fob, and still won’t lock.

Have them demonstrate it for you. Did you use the lock button on the fob?

Thanks! Tried one more time and it finally locked. After locking the car with the fob, put the fob down over 8 ft from he car .
