Why does my panic alarm keep going off? What control turns it off?

Asked by Nicole Nov 02, 2016 at 10:06 PM about the 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE

Question type: General

My panic alarm keeps going off for no reason, and I have no way of turning it
off, other than waiting a few minutes and pressing every possible button.
Everytime I open my car door it alarms. Is there a way to shut this feature off
completely?

Factory installed. The answer is no. But if you put the key in the door and turn it to lock then unlock it will go away

Mine is doing the same but I know the door was replaced when it was in an accident and they did a hack job because the locks weren't changed over so can't do the key trick to make the alarm not go off. can you just undo the battery and put it back on? Or have to completely disable it somehow.
