2000 nissan altima wont start. security light blinks every three seconds and wont turn over. Tried disconnecting battery to reset. Tried cycling key on/off for 5 sec. still wont turn over. What's the reset?

A Nissan dealer has to either reset your security system, or maybe its a bad computer which once again a Nissan dealer will have to reprogram a new computer. I have a 2000 Altima Gxe 2.4 and it died driving down the road. It will turn over but wont start. Theres no spark, no gas Nothing. I read that the security system can shut the whole car down but in my case- I smelled something burning- its the computer. In either case your car wont do anything and youll have to bring it to the dealer.

Ive also read that from 2000 to 2003 theyve had this problem.
We just had the same problem we rest the the computer car started right up don't need no dealer there a reset thing on the ecm or compute. Take a small straight object and reset computer.
