Will be replacing a cracked windshield soon.  Have noticed a little bit of body rust above the windshield.  Could this cause water to drip onto the dashboard and control area?  Should I grind off the rust and paint the effected area?  What is the best solution?  The windshield has a wire in it, is this an antenna?  There is already an antenna mounted on the front fender...

You are in a bit of trouble, as soon you remove windshield chances are you have rusty windshield frame. That's why leaks started in first place. I would call body shops around and find out how much they would charge you-to repair rusty area, after removing windshield. Yes you drive to them without windshield or ask body shop to do that for you. Now you have something to think about it. Cheers
