Low coolant level on 2002 Nissan altima

Asked by GuruW1W3C May 09, 2018 at 03:25 PM about the 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Been having high indicated temp ( on gauge)
In dash.
Been getting Service Engine Light in dash also
Changed both thermostats ( both) and water pump
No coolant  on ground with car coolant filled and
just parked.
So leaks only when driving but not detectable
I notice white calcium (dry) around radiator cap.
I believe that cap leaks when car is hot and dry
It is evaporating before I can notice it.
Caps are cheap so I replaced and all like looks
good for now. I personally never seen a cap go bad
Maybe a cop but not a cap. Lol
