What did your dealer service department say when you asked them?

The first time, they had no clue, they could not replicate the vehicle not starting when they tried to start it. I will be taking it back to the dealer tomorrow.

I have a 2019 terrain. Had this problem where the car would not start when the start button was pressed. I took my foot off the brake and then again pressed the brake and start button ,almost a year gone by and that did not happen again.

I'm having issues with my 2020 terrain. Battery died 6/12/2020 auto stop was on Service brake assist 7/3/2020 auto stop was on Service theft deterrent system 7/4/2020 car was off. It was towed in June because it died while I was stopped before a construction zone. I drove it 25 miles before it died. The dealer said it was just a dead battery. It failed the 1st battery test but after they charged it, it passed. Intermittently since June 12, it won't start when I try. I have to wait 5 minutes before I can try again and it works. Im calling the dealer tomorrow to take it back, again.

I have a GMC Terrain that when you push the button it just cranks, never starts, took a video of it, had it towed to dealership. They could not replicate it after a week of having it. I took it back 2 1/2 weeks later same thing, towed it back to dealership, one week later and still don’t have it back. The only plus is that it now has a code and on star sent me an email stating I have an engine and transmission issue.

Update on my terrain. There was an internal short in the battery so they replaced it. Not sure how they didnt catch that a month ago. But it seems to be normal again. No issues (knock on wood) since it was replaced

Have a 2020 Terrain that twice now has had starting issues. Push button start. Car starts, then shuts right down. All restarts do the same. Then all of the dash lights including the entertainment system stay on even after exiting the vehicle. After an hour the car goes into battery saver mode. Half hour later all lights go out and vehicle is fine. This exact same thing happened two times. (800 miles on vehicle). Also , while all this was going on the vehicle did not recognize the key fobs. Took to dealer. They found many codes referring to mass air flow sensor. Replaced it. We will see.

We have a 2020 Terrain we bought new. At least 4 times this has happened now. First time they said it was because the key fob was left in it overnight. Second time they said the battery needed replaced so we did that. Third time they said it was something with the fuel system so we had it replaced. Just did it a 4th time and they have no idea. GMC needs to figure it out and do a recall. It's a safety issue if my wife gets stranded late at night somewhere cause this happens totally random.

Have a 2020 GMC Terrain SLE 3SA, 48K miles, Starter issues, it only starts after a few push to starts, and the battery is showing 13.7, which must be the starter, as the auto stop cannot be disabled, and seems like after approx almost 50k miles the starter is failing after working on every red/green signal… I scheduled an appointment with the dealer hoping they won’t claim it's the battery and take care of the problem they expected coming by having no option to turn off the auto- stop (unlike other makes).
