Question type: General

Looking for a car to ferry a wife and kid, would you recommend GTI over GLI if
performance is one of the key criteria ? The boot space b/w the 2 said cars is
not very clear by the specifications.

I would not recommend a VW if reliability is an issue for you.

Thank you both ! Well reliability is not a concern personally as MQB platform has been quite consistent over the years. My question however was essentially how much of a 'performance loss' one has to make when we choose GLI over GTI , boot space not withstanding.I am personally keen on getting a GTI (2020 of course)but I wanted to weigh in all the angles especially practicality. I know GTI is ultimate driving machine without hassles and wante to avoid ending up in a situation where you are neither here (no fun) nor there (avg comfort). Any leads/ experiences would be appreciated. Thanks a lot !

For performance compare the weight of each and the horse power of each. Which ever one has the best power to weight ratio should perform the best.
