No. Does it have a small pin sticking out and the needle jumped passed it?

I will say that, if the gauge needle itself is sticking that that by itself would not affect your trans or fuel mileage. However, if it is sticking due to a faulty camshaft or crankshaft sensor, it would affect the performance of the vehicle. If you are not experiencing any problems with the engine "stuttering" or, cranking but not starting or, low power then I would suspect that the issue is only with the gauge itself. If you don't have access to another gauge, you could buy a OBD-II reader that would have the capability to read "live data" and watch the "Engine RPM" or "Engine Speed" parameter in the tool -- if the dash gauge sticks but the OBD-II data does not then it confirms that the problem is the gauge and not a sensor.
