Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For the batteries in an electric vehicle.  Is it detrimental to charge the battery up to full?  Or is it better to charge just to 80 percent?

Theoretically there's linger lifetime if not discharged below 20 percent or charged more than 80. Percent. Did the manufacturer do that for you behind the scenes? I usually don't recharge unless I'm really low if I don't expect to go too far the next day, but for Sunday it has a full charge, and after I get home, I fill it up again for the week. J K 2015 smart ev still shows 82 miles range in summer and 74 today, as good as new.
