Burning oil

Asked by GuruVN36J Aug 30, 2018 at 10:09 AM about the 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 nissan altima with almost 301k
miles. Car is in excellent condition, but burns oil.
Valve cover and gasket along with spark plugs
have been replaced. The smoke from the exhaust
is gone but the car is still using 2 quarts every
week- week and a half. I just need it to get through
until next summer. Any thoughts?

If you recently changed your valve cover and its a dorman brand its most likely that product. They have some old ones that have a defect and gasket at the baffle are leaks, check out this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVhnlOoEhH4
